UH signs Alabama volleyball all-star

Advertiser Staff

Jamie Houston, a 6-foot high school volleyball all-star from Huntsville, Ala., has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Hawai'i.

Houston helped Huntsville High School win its third consecutive class 5A (large schools) title last season.

Today was the first day high school athletes can sign college letters of intent for women's volleyball.

Houston was named Super All-Metro volleyball Player of the Year by Alabama's Huntsville Times and was named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 list of top high school seniors.

Hawai'i coach Dave Shoji said Houston can play more than one position, but is projected to be a left-side hitter for the Rainbow Wahine.
