Hawaiian, pilots back in court

Hawaiian Airlines and its pilots return to U.S. Bankruptcy Court this morning for what could be a three-day hearing to decide the terms of the pilots' next contract — and how long Hawaiian will remain in bankruptcy.

Hawaiian officials want U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Faris to impose contract terms on pilots who last month rejected the companies latest proposal.

Reaching an agreement on the pilots' contract is one of the last steps the airline needs to take to emerge from its 2-year-old bankruptcy.



Starwood to add 400 Maui units

Starwood Vacation Ownership will add more than 400 new time-share units on Maui as part of its continued expansion throughout North America, Hawai'i and the Caribbean.

Starwood Vacation Ownership, a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., today said 177 new units at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas will be completed by May and that it will build a 258-unit property next-door.

Starwood also said it is planning a new vacation ownership resort in Princeville, Kaua'i.
