Roundup nabs more than 130 fugitives

A local, state and federal task force rounded up 133 fugitives on O'ahu and Maui as part of a nationwide initiative to catch wanted criminals.

A news release from the U.S. Marshals Service said of the total arrests, 70 were related to narcotics offenses or crimes of violence. The raids, on April 7, yielded 2 ounces of methamphetamine, a quarter ounce of marijuana and 10 marijuana plants.

In Hawai'i, the effort was spearheaded by the Hawai'i Fugitive Task Force and involved the marshals service, the Department of Public Safety and the Maui County Police Department.
