Advertiser Staff

The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified Andrew Perkins, 40, of 'Aiea as the motorcyclist who was killed Monday night on Halawa Heights Road.

Witnesses estimated Perkins was traveling at more than 100 mph when his motorcycle collided with a Honda Civic about 8 p.m. at the intersection of Halawa Heights Road and 'Iwa'iwa Street.

Perkins was taken to Tripler Army Medical Center, where he died following the collision.

Raid leads to 'ice' arrests

Honolulu police and federal Secret Service agents arrested a 38-year-old woman and two men, ages 32 and 35, during a raid on a Waikiki hotel room about 1 p.m. yesterday.

The Secret Service obtained a search warrant to enter the hotel room and asked police for assistance.

Allegedly found in the room were crystal methamphetamine, "ice" pipes, lighters commonly used to smoke methamphetamine and a scale.

The three people in the room were arrested on suspicion of third-degree promotion of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
