The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified William Michael Kelly, 29, of Waialua as the driver who was killed when his Chrysler 300 veered off Kaukonahua Road Wednesday.

Police said Kelly was driving toward Waialua when his four-door sedan strayed off Kaukonahua about a half-mile north of Poamoho Street sometime before 7:30 a.m. The car went airborne, hit the ground and flipped once, police said.

Fingerprint match yields burglary arrest

A 29-year-old man was charged yesterday with a burglary in Kahala that took place eight months ago.

Jacob Ruff, 29, who is a detainee at O'ahu Community Correctional Center awaiting trial on car break-in charges, was arrested yesterday and charged with first-degree burglary in the Kahala case.

Police said a latent fingerprint was collected at the Kahala burglary site and that HPD crime lab workers used a computer recently to match the print taken from the burglary with Ruff's fingerprints.

Bail for Ruff in the burglary case was set at $25,000.
