Bahai faithful to celebrate
Advertiser Staff
To mark the annual Bahai Festival of Ridvan, the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahais of the Hawaiian Islands will hold a free "Harmony for Humanity" concert at 7 p.m. April 29 at the YWCA, 1040 Richards St.
There will be Puerto Rican music by Latin Fire, as well as groups performing Hawaiian, Latin, rock, blues and contemporary music, and dance performances.
Ridvan means "paradise," and during 12 days in the spring of 1863, Bahai founder Baha'u'llah is said to have resided in a garden of Baghdad that he dubbed "the Garden of Ridvan."
The celebration is hosted jointly by the Bahai community of Waialua and the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahais of the Hawaiian Islands.
