A special report on O'ahu's traffic problems, including video and interactive graphics

Advertiser Staff

The accident sites gathered here show major accidents (personal injury or more than $3,000 in damage) in Honolulu from August 2003 to August 2004 as recorded by the Honolulu Police Department. The figures include nearby mid-block accidents, which often are recorded on police traffic accident forms according to the nearest intersection. The totals include all types of accidents (auto-auto, auto-pedestrian, 90-degree, rear-end, etc.) and do not differentiate between physical causes (a broken traffic signal, or bad weather and human causes (alcohol, inattention, fatigue, etc.)
