• DAVID TUMILOWICZ has been promoted to director of marketing for Hawai'i-based, interactive television provider Broadband iTV. He was previously channel development manager, and before that, a sales account executive with the firm. The company, launched in October 2002 in partnership with Time Warner Cable, Hawai'i, offers viewers the ability to create and manage their own local content using interactive television.

• The Gas Co. has hired neal kadooka as an account executive, based in Kona, on the Big Island. He will handle commercial and residential sales, coordinate new customer installation, provide technical support and information for propane applications. Previously, the Big Island native owned an international express courier service franchise and a property asset management company, both serving Oregon and Washington state. The Gas Co. maintains more than 1,000 miles of gas lines statewide, with customers on O'ahu, Big Island, Maui, Moloka'i, Lana'i and Kaua'i.

ANDREW COOLEY has been named director of sales and marketing for the 311-room, oceanfront Courtyard by Marriott Kaua'i at Waipouli Beach. The 24-year veteran of hotel sales and marketing, will oversee leisure and group sales in Hawai'i, North America and the Far East, as well as directing all marketing, advertising and public relations. Most recently, Cooley held the same title with the Marietta Conference Center & Resort in Georgia. He has also served at a number of other Island properties, including Sheraton Princeville Hotel, Kaua'i; Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Big Island; The Westin Maui; and Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club and Fairfield Resorts, O'ahu. The four-story Courtyard by Marriott Kaua'i at Waipouli Beach opened earlier this year after a multimillion-dollar renovation.

• Two years after the death of Nobu Kawaharada, former executive chef at Kapahulu's traditional Japanese eatery Mr. Oji-san, his wife, Keiko, has hired a new executive chef: Kunihiko Nagai, former executive chef and owner of Senba Restaurant on King Street. The Osaka, Japan, native has also worked at Koto Restaurant in Waipahu and Chunky's Drive-In. Mr. Oji-san, located on Kapahulu Avenue in Kilohana Square, specializes in comfortable Japanese home-style cooking. To the existing menu, Nagai will add his signature specialities such as tako sunomono, gobo tempura — and hamburger steak.

• Two appointments have been announced at Territorial Savings Bank:

Robert Costa has been appointed a vice president in the bank's Branch Administration Department, responsible for the operation of 20 branches. Before joining Territorial, the 35-year banking veteran was branch manager for American Savings Bank, Financial Plaza Branch, and a vice president of the bank's Branch Operations Department.

AARON TAKEDA has been named branch manager of Territorial's Hawai'i Kai branch, responsible for branch operations and residential mortgage loan production.

• SARAH LEE MORIHARA, attorney formerly with the Cades Schutte law firm, has been named corporate counsel for the commercial/industrial property management firm Colliers Monroe Friedlander. Her new responsibilities will include reviewing retail, office and industrial lease and purchase offers; consulting for leased and managed property; assisting in disposition of investment properties; and addressing management, personnel and administrative issues. Among Morihara's areas of responsibility while with Cades Schutte were real-estate leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and real property tax appeals. She also served as a state time-share consultant.

• Title Guaranty has announced the promotion of Richard Phan to marketing manager. He will be responsible for creating and implementing the company's marketing and advertising activities, as well as assisting with the direction of Title Guaranty's sales and marketing strategies and overseeing the company's marketing staff.

A University of Hawai'i graduate with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing and international business, Phan has served as executive vice president for the University of Hawai'i chapter of American Advertising Federation and holds a certificate from the Pacific Asian Management Institute.

• Katja Reitemeyer, formerly of Avid and NXN Software, has joined Pipelinefx as vice president of worldwide sales. She is one of the founders of NXN Software, makers of asset management software Alienbrain, which was acquired by Avid last year for $44 million.

"Katja knows our market like the back of her hand," said Bill Spencer, Pipelinefx CEO. "She's been selling to the interactive entertainment market for the last seven years and has deep industry knowledge and an acute awareness of what game-makers and 3D animators need to keep up with the ever-rising quality bar in this competitive marketplace."

• Hilton Waikoloa Village recently announced Ashley Nakano as its new executive pastry chef. Previously the pastry chef at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Nakano will supervise day-to-day operations in Hilton Waikoloa Village's pastry kitchen, including preparations and production of breads, dessert items and showpieces.

Nakano began her culinary career with stints at Michel's Grand Wailea Resort, Meritage, Acqua Restaurant, as well as serving as assistant pastry chef at Hilton Waikoloa Village. She is the winner of numerous Taste of Honolulu dessert contest awards.

• Greig Gaspar is the new executive director of Angel Network Charities Inc. He is the former marketing specialist for Waimanalo Health Center and has worked with Hale Kipa Youth Services, Child and Family Service, the Governor's Office of Youth Services and the State Department of Education and University of Hawai'i-Manoa.

He sits on the board of directors of Hina Mauka Recovery Center, was appointed by Gov. Cayetano to the State Health Planning and Development Agency's Windward O'ahu sub area council and is an active member of the Native Hawaiian Education — O'ahu Island Council.

• New officers and directors for Mortgage Bankers Association of Hawaii have been appointed for 2005. They include: president, Gayle Ishima, Hawaii Home Loans; vice president, Rolann Regidor, Hawaii National Bank; treasurer, Carole Lau, Central Pacific Bank; and secretary, Marlene Lum, American Savings Bank.

2005 directors are: Russell Miyashiro, Finance Factors; Carl Cunningham, Inter Island Home Loans; Lisa Tarumoto, City Bank; and Joy Cabildo, First Hawaiian Bank.
