Where to keep stuff handy

The basic rules of good storage apply to every item in every room of the home, say the experts in Good Housekeeping's "The Complete Household Handbook." Among their tips:
• Store items at the point of first or last use. For example, put dinner plates near either the table or the dishwasher. • Opt for adjustability so items can be moved as your needs change.
Also, recyclables — aluminum, glass and plastic beverage containers, cellular phones, copiers, printers and fax cartridges — will be accepted from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m.
Celebrating your baby's first birthday is a special occasion, not only for the child, but for the whole family.

Good eco-deeds await at Earth Day at the Fishpond, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Waikalua Loko Fishpond in Kane'ohe.
