Radford senior Brittiany Broadwater was named the state's Most Valuable Cheerleader for the second year in a row by the Hawai'i State Cheerleading Coaches Association.
She earned the honor by collecting the highest point total after being judged on a number of qualities on a target point system.
Eighteen cheerleaders were selected to the first team, led by Broadwater and Mililani senior Jamie Lyn Greseth, who was named the HSCCA Scholar-Athlete.
Broadwater and Greseth each received $500 scholarships.
State medium division (11 or fewer) champion Moanalua placed the most cheerleaders on the first team with five picks, followed by state large division (12-18) champion Kamehameha with four.
The selections were based on videotape auditions. Candidates were judged on tumbling, jumps, stunts and cheer execution, and female athletes were also judged on dance performance.
Showmanship, expression and motion accuracy and definition were also taken into consideration by the judges.
