Wife threw knives at husband, police told

A 55-year-old Makiki woman was arrested early today after she allegedly threw several knives at her husband.

The husband, 59, told police he was arguing with his wife when she went to the kitchen of their apartment on Spencer Street and returned with three large kitchen knives.

The husband said the first two knives thrown by his wife missed him, but the third knife hit him in the back of the head, causing a superficial wound.

The husband managed to get out of the apartment and call police who arrested the wife on suspicion of second-degree assault.



Police arrest man in burglary

A 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the March burglary of the business office of a condominium at 2439 Kapi'olani Blvd.

Security cameras captured videotape images of the burglary and the CrimeStoppers program provided copies of the burglary images to the media last week.

A suspect in the case surrendered at the main Police Station cellblock, where he was questioned, booked for suspicion of first-degree burglary and then released pending further investigation.



Boys allege teens robbed them

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy in Kailua yesterday who they believe was part of a group of boys who threatened to harm several younger boys and demanded money from them.

Police said the boys who were threatened turned over their money and saw the boys who took it get on a city bus.

The boys who were robbed call police, who managed to stop the bus a few minutes later.

The boys who were robbed were able to identify one of the alleged robbers, and he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.



Visitors accuse new friend in hold-up

Two 25-year-old men who are visiting from Japan told police they were robbed at gunpoint early this morning by three men, one of whom they had met and befriended on Monday.

The men who were robbed said the man came to their hotel room about 12:30 this morning along with two other men.

Once inside the room, two of the three men pulled out handguns and demanded the visitors from Japan turn over their money. The robbers then searched the hotel room and took other items before leaving, police said.



Man arrested in sexual assault

Police yesterday arrested a 49-year-old man who is a suspect in a sexual assault case that is nearly a year old.

A 48-year-old woman told police the man, who is a business acquaintance, sexually assaulted her in May 2004 at a home in Manoa.

Police said the woman identified her attacker via a photographic lineup and that he was located and arrested on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

The suspect was later released without charges.
