Advertiser Staff and News Services

To borrow from U2 "Hello, hello ... Hola!"

Sisters In Sound host a place for drum-n-bass. deejays & live electronics called "Vertigo," a one-time-only party tonight at thirtyninehotel. "Vertigo's" live and DJed soundtrack goes off with Metal X, Chronkite, Diode, Monkey, Toki, Enemy, Ted and visuals by Mahaiok.

Our advice? Double up. Check out "Vertigo," starting upstairs off 39 Hotel Street at 9 p.m., and the "Get Fresh" Earth Day party around the corner at Indigo Eurasian Cuisine, starting at 10 p.m.

Both are 21 and older and jump till 2 a.m.

Lack of sleep: It's a mom problem

According to a recent poll by Parenting magazine and AmericaOnline, four out of five moms said that when their children cry at night, they're the ones who get up to comfort them. Only 15 percent share duties with Dad.

Only 16 percent of moms get the eight hours of sleep they need to feel refreshed. More than half get six hours or less.

Twenty-two percent let their kids stay up late when Daddy isn't home.

The top four stalling tactics for kids at bedtime: asking for a glass of water, asking for another story, complaining that the room is too dark or too light, and begging for another bathroom trip.

FINAL WORD

Nicole Richie in the New York Daily News:

"I think that sometimes people just make the mistake that I'm just so out of control and wild and crazy. And yes, I like to have fun and do my thing, but a lot of stuff on 'The Simple Life' is enter-tainment, you know? I just consider myself a very normal 23-year-old girl. I like to hang out with my girlfriends, and go shopping and go to movies."
