POLICE BEAT
Man arrested in freeway shooting

Advertiser Staff

Police have questioned a suspect about a Monday night incident in which another man said someone fired two gunshots at him while he was driving east-bound on the H-1 Freeway near Kunia Road.

The man who filed the complaint said he was driving south on Kunia Road and saw a motorist speeding and passing cars. He said he got on the freeway and noticed that the same car had pulled up beside him. He said he heard two gunshots and saw two bright flashes coming from the other vehicle.

The man who reported the incident told police he followed that car and got its license plate number.

Police went to the home of the registered owner of the car from which the shots were allegedly fired and arrested a 22-year-old man, who was identified by the man who filed the complaint.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and was later released without charges pending further investigation.
