Each of the honorees will receive a $1,000 scholarship provided by friends of football in the community, and one will be nominated to represent Hawai'i in the national scholar-athlete recognition program of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

In addition, veteran Wai'anae coach Larry Ginoza will be recognized for his lifelong service as a high school coach, and booster Bert Kobayashi will be similarly recognized for his outstanding support of high school and college football.

The recognition banquet, the seventh annual scholar-athlete banquet of the Hawaii Chapter 242 of the NFFCHF, will be 6 p.m. at the Monarch Room of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Richard Kazmaier, who won the Heisman Trophy while at Princeton in 1951, will deliver the keynote address.
