Public hearings focus on gas price-cap law

Advertiser Staff

The Public Utilities Commission next week will begin a series of public hearings around the state on a gasoline price-cap law scheduled to take effect Sept. 1.

Hawai'i gas prices are typically the highest in the nation partly because of the high cost of doing business in Hawai'i and the state's high taxes.

• 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Kaua'i High School Library, 3577 Lala Road, Lihu'e, Kaua'i

• 6 p.m., Thursday at the Kealakehe Intermediate School Cafeteria, 74-5062 Onipa'a St., Kailua, Kona, Hawai'i
