University of Hawai'i senior forward Natasha Kai was named the preseason Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year in a vote by WAC coaches.

It is the second straight preseason Player of the Year honor for Kai, who was the WAC Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003.

Last season, Kai led Hawai'i in scoring with 29 points on 12 goals and five assists.

Hawai'i sophomore midfielder Jessica Domingo was named to the 11-member preseason All-WAC team along with Kai.

Fresno State junior defender Rochelle Jagdeo was named the preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Hawai'i, which was earlier tabbed as the favorite to win the WAC in a preseason vote by coaches, opens its season against George Mason in the OHANA Hotels & Resorts No Ka Oi Tournament on Aug. 26. Brigham Young is also in the tournament.
