Tom Sadler has resigned as University of Hawai'i associate athletic director to join Global Entertainment Corporation, an integrated entertainment company in Phoenix, Ariz.

Sadler, 44, was named vice president of a new business unit being formed to oversee the facility management component for Global. The company is involved with arena development, marketing and ticketing.

"I personally want to thank Herman Frazier for being so supportive during our many years working together," Sadler said in a release issued by the company. "He has made fantastic strides with the UH Athletics Department and it has been an honor to be a part of the significant process that has been made."

Sadler joined the UH staff in 2003, and was athletic director Frazier's first administrative hire.

Sadler oversaw the internal, day-to-day operations of the athletic department, including ticketing and facilities management. He also supervised men's volleyball, baseball, softball and cross country.

"We are pleased for Tom and his family and we wish them well," Frazier said in a UH release. "Tom made a difference during the 2 1/2 years he was with us here at the University of Hawai'i."

Frazier also said he spoke to interim President David McClain and interim Manoa Chancellor Denise Konan about starting the search for a replacement immediately.
