If you're on Maui, head for Ka'anapali for the 16th annual Maui Onion Festival, featuring onion-eating contests (today for kids, tomorrow for adults), produce booths, onion rings, chef demos, food tastings, games, music and entertainment.

Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow at Whaler's Village. Admission is free.
