Auto show today will benefit Ready to Learn program

Auto fans can check out some hot rides and contribute to a good cause at the first School Supplies Drive & After Dark Auto Show Off, from 5 to 9 p.m. today in the parking lot of Tires Direct in Salt Lake (the former Costco site).
The event, which benefits Helping Hands Hawai'i's Ready to Learn program, is sponsored by Scion Evolution Hawaii and Tires Direct.
For a $10 fee, vehicle owners can enter categories such as Import (made in Asia), Euro (made in Europe), American, Low-Rider (any car with wire wheels). Truck/SUV/Van, Classic Cars (made in the '70s and earlier) and Club Participation (club with the most cars entered).
The public is invited to view the show and support the cause: Bring school supplies such as three-ring binders, folder paper, composition tablets, unsharpened No. 2 pencils and washable color markers.
