  • Expected growth at Hilton's Hawai'i properties — and Hilton Hawaiian Village's role in the "renaissance of Waikiki" in particular — will be outlined in a speech next week by Gary Seibert, new managing director for Hilton's Hawai'i region. He speaks on "PLANNING FOR CONTINUOUS GROWTH" to a joint meeting of the Hawaii Society of Corporate Planners and Hawaii Hotel&Lodging Association. In his new position, Seibert oversees more than 3,000 staff and almost 5,000 hotel rooms, including those at two flagship properties, Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hilton Waikoloa Village. He began his new position as area vice president and regional managing director June 1, replacing longtime Hilton veteran Peter Schall.

The joint meeting is scheduled for noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Hawai'i Prince Hotel Waikiki's Mauna Kea Ballroom. Sign-in from 11:30 a.m. Fee; guests welcome. (Early registration by Friday.) For more information, call Roberta Cullen at 537-2356.
