Several Hawai'i athletes have recovered from injuries and are hoping to participate in fall training workouts.
Most football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball camps are in session or are beginning this week.
Washington sophomore defensive tackle Wilson Afoa (Saint Louis '03) was restricted during spring drills because of a back injury.
Washington senior inside linebacker Joe Lobendahn (Saint Louis '01 of Honolulu) broke his wrist in the team's home finale last season against Cal.
Washington junior defensive tackle Donny Mateaki (Iolani '02 of Honolulu) missed spring drills because of foot surgery to repair a ligament.
Oregon senior forward Nicole Garbin (Baldwin '01 of Wailuku) is back after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in the spring of 2004, and redshirting last season.
Southern Methodist senior forward/midfielder Duke Hashimoto (Iolani '02 of Kapolei) has recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. "My knee is 100 percent right now," he said.
Duke sophomore goalkeeper Allison Lipsher (Punahou '04 of Hawai'i Kai) had surgery in the spring on her knee and has been going through rehab this summer.
FOOTBALL
Colorado sophomore linebacker Jordon Dizon (Waimea '04) was selected by Street & Smith's to the preseason first-team all-Big 12 Conference squad.
COMMITMENT
Kamehameha senior-to-be Deven Hannah Bukoski, an Interscholastic League of Honolulu honorable mention selection, has verbally accepted a scholarship offer to play volleyball at Cal State Fullerton, according to her mother, former state Rep. Kika Bukoski.
Bukoski will join the Titans, possibly as an outside hitter, for the 2006-07 season.
