West O'ahu defeated Boise, Idaho, 12-1, today in San Bernardino, Calif., to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

West O'ahu (6-0), winner of the Northwest Region, will join seven other U.S. regional winners and eight international teams in the World Series for 11- and 12-year-olds, which starts Aug. 19.

This Little League division is the oldest, holding its first World Series in 1947.

By 1953, L.L. World Series games were being televised. Now, regional title games to determine World Series participants are televised live nationally.
