Members of the Hawaii Advertising Federation will get a preview of this fall's prime time television season with a video prepared by each of the local network affiliates. The luncheon "Fall Network Television Preview" is scheduled for noon (11:30 a.m. registration) Aug. 25 at the Hawai'i Prince Hotel Waikiki ballroom. A University of Hawai'i College of Business MBA program will be outlined in a continuing series of information sessions on the Neighbor Islands. The 48-credit-hour Neighbor Island Masters in Business Administration program offers individuals an opportunity to pursue a graduate degree on their home island, with no travel requirements to Honolulu and limited interruption to professional and personal lives. The Hawai'i Tourism Authority along with the counties of Honolulu, Kaua'i and Maui will hold a series of statewide workshops on funding available to tourism industry diversification niche areas, such as agri-tourism, cultural tourism, ecotourism, edu-tourism, health and wellness tourism, and techno-tourism. An economic development specialist from the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide the latest information on opportunities offered by SBA programs and services for small-business owners and entrepreneurs today at the state's Business Action Center. The second in a series of small business seminars for the Leeward and North Shore coasts of O'ahu will be offered Wednesday by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the city Office of Economic Development. The free workshop, "From Contracts to Cash," will focus on federal and state programs that offer help for entrepreneurs and small businesses to "grow" their business.
