A Kailua man was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault after he allegedly raped a woman, now 20 years old, more than 200 times over a 13-year period, fathering a child, now 3 years old, in the process, according to a court document released yesterday.

The man was arrested early Friday at an apartment in Kailua and made his initial appearance in court yesterday. He is being held on $400,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.

The 20-year-old told police the man began raping her in 1992, when she was 7, and repeated the act more than 200 times until March of this year, according to the document.
