Jason Rasa pitched a complete game, escaping a final-inning jam, to help lift Pearl City past Freehold Township, N.J., 4-3, and advance to the World Series title game.

The Little League Senior Division (15-16 years old) baseball semifinal was played before 425 fans at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Maine.

It was one of five youth World Series games involving O'ahu teams being played today. Two others -- Babe Ruth (13-15) at Abbeville, La., and Little League Juniors (13-14) at Taylor, Mich., also are in the semifinals. The Cal Ripken (12-under) team in Aberdeen, Md., is in a quarterfinal and the Little League Majors (11-12) is playing a first-round game in Williamsport, Pa.

In Pearl City's victory, Rasa allowed a walk and a single with two out in the seventh. With a runner on third, Rasa got clean-up batter Jason Nardi to foul out to left.

Rasa allowed five hits, walked four and struck out one.

Pearl City will play the winner of today's other semifinal between Habersham (Clarkesville, Ga.) and Urbandale (Iowa) Saturday for the title.

Pearl City had to battle back to earn the spot in the championship.

Freehold scored three runs in the top of the third for a brief 3-0 lead. Pearl City answered with a two-out rally, scoring three runs to tie it.

Rorry Nakayama scored on a wild pitch, Kellen Ushijima singled in Ryno Acosta, and Shannon Liu scored on a single by Rasa.

Pearl City took the lead in the fourth without getting a hit. Peter Lee, pinch-running for Matthew Tanaid, who walked, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Nakayama's sacrifice fly.

Both teams managed just five hits apiece with Nakayama, Acosta, Ushijima, Rasa and Nainoa Tampos all managing singles for O'ahu.
