Youth Worship Bash at Kualoa

The Summer Youth Worship Bash, geared to ages 14 to 25, will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 3 at Kualoa Ranch.

The event includes music by 7 Simple Pieces and Christian rock/punk band Red Letter. Christian speakers and worship musicians also will be on hand, and the evening will include a bonfire and extreme sports and surfing movies.

Fee is $5 (includes lunch and a light supper).

LAPSED CATHOLICS INVITED TO RETURN

Lapsed and alienated Catholics are invited to attend a series geared for them, "Catholics Returning Home," with six free Monday sessions beginning Sept. 26 at Blessed Sacrament parish hall, 2124 Pauoa Road.

Topics to be covered include: Vatican Council II, Mass, the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Nicene Creed.

CATHOLIC SISTERS BENEFIT AT HYATT

Sister Kathleen Marie Shields' book on the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet, a historical account that begins with their arrival in Hawai'i in August 1938, will be available for purchase and signing by the author at the Founders Day Celebration, Aug. 27. The event features a gathering at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch and entertainment, and both a silent and a live auction. Proceeds will benefit The Sisters of Saint Joseph Retirement Fund.

Tickets: $40 ($15 tax deduc-tible).
