Hawai'i's Parker McLachlin closed with a rush, firing a final-round 66 to win the Grey Goose Gateway Tour's 10th event yesterday at Alta Mesa Country Club in Mesa, Ariz.

McLachlin, the 1996 state high school champion for Punahou, won $20,000. His 72-hole score was 22-under 265 on the two tournament courses. He finished a shot ahead of Scott Harrington (69), who had led since an opening-round 63.

McLachlin had just one bogey in the tournament — on the sixth hole in his second round.

Kane'ohe's Brian Zodrow was a reserve hitter for the U.S. team.
