Teen flees stolen car, crash scene

Police went to the crash scene about 10 p.m. and learned that one of the cars involved had been reported stolen. One of the officers found a witness who reported seeing a boy jump out of the stolen car and run shortly after the collision.
Police found the boy nearby and a witness identified him as the driver of one of the cars involved. He was arrested for suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, failure to render aid, driving without a license and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision.
Man caught driving stolen car onto base
A 27-year-old Makiki man was arrested early this morning after he tried to drive a car that had been reported stolen onto Hickam Air Force Base.
Police said the man stopped at the main gate at about 12:25 a.m. and told a sentry that he was looking for Honolulu International Airport.
The guard gave the man directions, but instead of turning around, the driver proceeded to drive onto the base.
A Hickam security officer pursued the man and ordered him to pull over. After determining that the car had been reported stolen, civilian police officers were called, the suspect was turned over to them and was arrested for suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
Masked men rob victim, try to set house on fire
A Kane'ohe man told police he was robbed by two masked men when he returned home about 10:15 p.m. yesterday.
He said the two strangers approached him, one of whom held a knife in each, hand and demanded money.
The victim told police the two robbers damaged several cars in his driveway and tried to set his home on fire, but the flames were quickly doused by a witness. The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident, police said.
No arrests had been made as of this morning.
Three arrested in robbery, beating incidents
Police yesterday were holding three Papakolea men ages 18, 19 and 20 as suspects in the robbery of three men in two different incidents in Pearl City early yesterday morning.
Police said the suspects beat up the first victim and demanded his property at about 1:30 a.m. The same men returned to the same area about 3 a.m., assaulted two other men and demanded money from them as well, police said.
The suspects were later arrested at a home on 'Auwaiolimu Street in Papakolea for suspicion of second-degree robbery.
