Police yesterday arrested 12 people, including two juveniles, and seized about 10 grams of crystal methamphetamine in a drug raid on three apartment units in Wahiawa.

Specialized Services Division officers assisting the Wahiawa Crime Reduction unit conducted the operation at 6:20 a.m. The units raided were in buildings at 49 and 44A 'Ohai St., and 36 Cypress Ave.

Officers arrested five men between the ages of 20 and 52; five women, ages 18-46; and two girls, 17 and 14. The younger girl was a runaway, police said.

The adults and older girl were booked on multiple drug counts.

Sgt. Glen Ishikawa of the Wahiawa Crime Reduction Unit said the raid capped two weeks of investigation based on community complaints of ongoing drug trafficking.

Yesterday's bust involved people who are related to each other, said Ishikawa.

"We're trying to do something to clean up the area," Ishikawa said. "There are a lot of good people living in the area and the message is this kind of stuff is not going to be tolerated."
