High school: Kaiser High (Class of 1980).

Height: 6-1.

Weight: 210 pounds.

Best bench press: 375 pounds.

Best 40 time: 4.5 seconds.

Famous friends: Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon; former world champion boxer Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

Favorite entertainers: "Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, U2 and Elton John."

Public or private school: "I went to public, but my son goes to private."

Jamba Juice or Starbucks "They're the best in both categories. When I want coffee, I go to Starbucks. When I want a smoothie, I go to Jamba Juice. By the way, they're owned by the same people. You know that, don't you?"

Hobby: "Interior designing. I do all of my homes."

Speed or quickness: "Quickness. Very rarely do you have to run more than 40 yards in sporting events."

Best 40 time: 4.35 seconds.

Famous friend: Former NBA player Kermit Washington.

Favorite entertainer: "Nicole C. Mullen. She's awesome, man. She's a Christian singer."

Public or private school: "I would say it depends. Over here, private. On the Mainland, public."

Jamba Juice or Starbucks: "Jamba Juice, because they sponsor our speed camp."

Hobby: "Motocross. I ride cr500, cr250."

Did you know: "If I told you, then everybody would know. Let's say, I have no secrets."

Hair-care secret: "Soap."

Speed or quickness: "I would say quickness, because I've seen a lot of fast guys who can't play but not too many quick guys who can't play."

In Atlanta in 1996, Rich Miano was a safety for June Jones. At UH in the early 1970s, Mel deLaura was Jones' favorite receiver. Miano and deLaura are on the UH staff, and co-founders of the Hawai'i Speed and Quickness Clinics.
