"Life in the Pacific: The 21st Century," an educational opportunity for high school and college students and graduates with ties to the Polynesian cultures of Hawai'i to learn photographic techniques and create works to be shown with an exhibit scheduled for Feb. 23-May 14 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Classes, held at the academy on Saturdays beginning in October, are free. Also, the academy is seeking photographers and teachers to lead classes for this project. The Association of Hawaii Artists seeks works for its members' exhibit juried by Motoomi Eguchi, scheduled for Sept. 1-14. Submit works 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Art Board; $10 per person for up to three submissions; nonmembers may pay an additional $30 for one-year membership dues. 398-1863.
