Man killed with sword at Waimalu

Police have opened a homicide investigation into the death of a man who was reportedly slashed with a samurai sword early this morning at the Waimalu shopping center on Kamehameha Highway.Police were told that the victim was attacked by a group of men about 2 a.m. and was slashed in the neck and cut in the back, shoulders and chest area by one of the men who used a samurai sword.
The injured man was taken to Pali Momi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
No arrests had been made in the case as of 8 a.m.
Man stabbed in the back after argument
An 18-year-old man was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition last night after being stabbed in Wahiawa.
Police said the victim was arguing with a 22-year-old man who then challenged him to fight.
The victim ran after the other man pulled a knife, but the older man chased down the younger one and stabbed him twice in the back, police said.
The suspect left the area before police arrived, but patrol officers conducted an area search, located the man and arrested him for suspicion of attempted second-degree murder.
Police make arrest in September rape case
A 51-year-old Nanakuli man was arrested last night in connection with a rape that is alleged to have occurred in September.
A 22-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted by her aunt's boyfriend about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 4 in Nanakuli.
Police said the suspect was arrested without incident about 7:45 p.m. last night at his home in Nanakuli.
Woman, 36, arrested for alleged sexual assault of boy, 15
A 36-year-old Makaha woman was arrested yesterday as a suspect in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy alleged to have taken place May 29, 2004.
Police released few details about the incident, but described the woman as an acquaintance of the boy. They said the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the boy in her car between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. at an unspecified location in the Wai'anae area.
The woman was arrested for suspicion of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault.
Woman allegedly tries to run down ex-boyfriend
A Waikiki woman was arrested last night at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor after she allegedly gunned her car's engine and tried to run down her ex-boyfriend.
Police said the woman, 46, and ex-boyfriend, 44, agreed to meet in a public place. They said the former boyfriend got into the woman's car to talk with her and an argument ensued.
Police were told the man became angry and hostile, got out of the car and began to walk away. At that point, the man heard the car engine rev, saw his former girlfriend heading directly at him and jumped out of the way to keep from being run over.
Police said that as the woman drove past, the ex-boyfriend hurled a wooden two-by-four at the car, cracking its windshield.
Police were called to the harbor and arrested the woman for suspicion of attempted second-degree murder and the man for suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage.
Daughter arrested after allegedly forging mom's check
A Kahuku Intermediate School student is in trouble with her mother and police as well for allegedly forging a check the mother had made out to the school.
Police said the mother, 43, discovered a check she had made out to the school had been altered sometime in mid-November and later discover her daughter, 12, altered it.
The mother notified police, who arrested the girl yesterday for suspicion of second-degree forgery.
Man allegedly threatens wife with kitchen knife
Police arrested a Makakilo man yesterday after he allegedly threatened to kill his wife and lunged at her with a kitchen knife.
Police said the man had been arguing with his wife about 1 p.m. when he grabbed the knife, started toward her and began yelling at her.
The man dropped the knife when he fell over a chair and another family member was able to remove the knife from the area, police said.
Police arrived at the home and arrested the husband for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
