Advertiser Staff

Median sales prices for O'ahu single-family homes and condominiums rose $15,000 to $20,000 last month to new records, though fewer homes sold compared with November 2004.

The median single-family home sold for $640,500, compared with $620,000 in October and $490,000 a year earlier, according to the Honolulu Board of Realtors.

Condos sold for a median of $305,000, compared with $290,000 in October and $229,300 a year earlier.

The median is a point at which half the homes sold for more and half for less.

The number of sales dropped 2 percent to 366 for single-family homes and to 614 for condos compared with year-earlier figures.

Hawaiian Airlines No. 1 in on-time service

Hawaiian Airlines led its competitors in on-time service and fewest cancellations and tied for fewest complaints for October.

It was the fourth straight month and fifth month out of seven that Hawaiian has led all carriers in both on-time performance and fewest flights cancelled. Hawaiian also ranked third in baggage handling and fewest oversales.

In October, 96.8 percent of Hawaiian flights arrived as scheduled, which was 15.5 percentage points above the industry average of 81.3 percent. Out of 4,029 flights in October, Hawaiian had zero cancellations.
