UH men's volleyball picked fifth in MPSF

The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, according to a poll of the conference's coaches released today.

Brigham Young was picked to win the conference. The Cougars received six of the first-place votes from the 12 conference coaches. BYUH was 20-10 overall and 15-7 in the MPSF last season. UCLA (26-6, 18-4) was second with three first-place votes, Long Beach State (22-10, 14-8) third with one first-place vote. Defending national champion Pepperdine (25-2, 20-2) was fourth with one first-place vote.

The Warriors were 19-9 and 15-7 last season and finished fourth in the MPSF. No. 6 Cal State Northridge (19-13, 10-12) received the other first-place vote.
