Islands Ministries sessions in March

"Give Glory to God" is the theme of the 18th annual Hawaiian Islands Ministries' conference, set for March 23-25 at the Hawai'i Convention Center.

Presenters include well-known speaker Tony Campolo and Richard Mouw, president of Fuller Theological Seminary.

Of interest on the "youth track" of this year's conference will be Jim Burns and Paul Sheppard. There also will be sessions geared for people interested in college or post-college careers in ministry.

There are discounts for those who register early, with single-session tickets at $25 ($35 at the door).

NEW HOPE STAGES 'CHRISTMAS CAROL'

"A Christmas Carol" will be presented this season at Farrington High School Auditorium.

The New Hope Christian Fellowship Youth Choir will perform with students age 13-20, who began rehearsing in August for this Christmas production. Dane Ison directs. The orchestra is directed by Frederick Alcain and dance is choreographed by Laine Yoshioka, with Marcus Sanders as Scrooge. The ghost of Christmas Past will be played by Larry Gillis; the ghost of Christmas Present, by Rod Shimabukuro; with Elwin Ahu as the ghost of Christmas Yet-to-Come. All three are pastors for the church.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Dec. 9, 11, 15 and 16; 4 p.m. Dec. 11 and 6 p.m. tomorrow and Dec. 18.
