University of Hawai'i cornerback Ryan Keomaka today was name the Western Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.Keomaka, a 5-foot-9, 160-pound sophomore from Roosevelt High School, made nine solo tackles, recovered a fumble, intercepted a pass in front of the end zone and broke up a potential touchdown pass in the final minutes of UH's 49-38 victory over San Diego State this past Saturday.
"That hit he made at the end really saved the game from being a lot closer," said Rich Miano, who coordinates the UH defensive secondary.
