Man arrested allegedly stealing van

A 37-year-old Honolulu man was arrested early yesterday after he allegedly stole a van and tried to run from police officers.At 2:30 a.m., a patrol officer saw the man in a van with an expired tax and safety sticker at 1122 Palama St.
After running a check on the vehicle, the officer discovered it was stolen, police said.
When the officer approached the van, the man slowed down, jumped out and ran, police said.
