High surf expected late today

Advertiser Staff

A large northwest swell is expected to bring high surf to O'ahu late today, the National Weather Service said. The surf will peak tomorrow, and slowly diminish over the weekend.

Surf heights with this swell will exceed advisory levels along north- and west-facing shores tonight through Saturday. A moderate northwest swell is possible Tuesday, the weather service said.

The weather service predicted wave faces of 6 to 10 feet today along north-facing shores, 4 to 6 feet on west- and east-facing shores, and 3 to 5 feet on south-facing shores.
