TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Elton John: The Red Piano," 7 p.m., NBC. Elton John and Las Vegas were made for each other. This special was taped at Caesar's Palace with lots of flash and glitz. Dave Mallett, a master at directing concert specials, treats this one like the Super Bowl with 36 high-definition cameras. He also has a giant screen to show some of John's most popular videos.

OF NOTE

"Little Einsteins," 8 a.m., Disney Channel. This special has the animated kids getting "Christmas wish boxes" and retrieving a missing box. You're too old for this show if you shout at the screen: "A turtle? You could have anything and you wished for a turtle?"

"King of Queens," 7 p.m., CBS. After a computer captures their nasty fight, Carrie and Doug decide to try a therapist.

"How I Met Your Mother," 7:30 p.m., CBS. While their friends go to a party at a night club, Marshall and Lilly want to seem mature by hosting a wine tasting.

"Two and a Half Men," 8 p.m. CBS. Charlie is supposed to help Alan by answering the phones at his office. Naturally, he promptly transforms the place. Meanwhile, Alan is in the principal's office after his son's drawing causes a stir. This rerun, like most "Men" episodes, is loud, brash, sometimes over-the-top and often very funny.

"Las Vegas," 8 p.m., NBC. Danny traces the mystery woman who is in a photo with his father.

"Wanted," 8 p.m., TNT. Back in 1986, this episode says, 552 women and children were massacred in Guatemala. Now four survivors are in Los Angeles, wreaking vengeance.

"Out of Practice," 8:30 p.m., CBS. In a fairly funny rerun, the family frets that Ben has turned into a nerd since his wife left him.

"American Experience: The Fight," 9 p.m., PBS. When Joe Louis and Max Schmeling had their 1938 boxing rematch it was treated like global war. Some 70,000 people packed Yankee Stadium and an estimated 70 million listened on radio for a two-minute battle. This beautifully made rerun captures the texture before and after the fight.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. When a yacht catches on fire, two people jump overboard and are killed by sharks. Was murder involved?

"Medium," 9 p.m., NBC. In a rerun, Chad Lowe plays a pilot who has been accused of killing his wife. Allison isn't sure.
