HSJGA crowns champions at Wailea Golf Club

Thomas Robertson of Pukalani, Maui, and Kimberly Kim of Pahoa, Hawai'i, won the boys and girls ages 15 to 18 divisions of the Hawai'i State Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions on Sunday at Wailea Golf Club's Emerald Course.

Roberston shot a 67-73—140 to beat Honolulu's Chan Kim and Sean Maekawa, of Pa'auilo, Hawai'i, by a stroke.

Kim shot a 71-72—143 to beat sister Christine Kim by four strokes.

Other boys division winners were: Taeksoo Kyung of Wailuku (144 total in age 13-14); Lorens Chan of Honolulu (145 in 11-12); and Joshua Defreitas Jr. of Wai'anae (145 in 10-younger).

Other girls division winners were: Dayna Bersamin of Kihei (152 in 13-14); Kyung Kim of Wailuku (152 in 11-12); and Taylor Viquelia of Waimea (163 in 10-younger).

The field for the season's final event was made up of junior tournament winners from the 2005 season.

GOLF HAWAI'I STARTING UP NEXT MONDAY

Golf Hawai'i returns to The Golf Channel for another 12-week run beginning Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.

The half-hour show, hosted by Mark Rolfing, is in its 11th season.

He will have exclusive interviews with the world's best golfers, take tours of Hawai'i's golf resorts, and provide outlook and updates on current events in the game, and instructional tips.

The season premiere will feature an interview with PGA Tour star Phil Mickelson.
