Hawai'i tops Utah State in WAC men's basketball

Matt Lojeski scored 20 points and Julian Sensley added 19 to lift the University of Hawai'i to a 69-59 victory over Utah State today in the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball season opener for both teams at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawai'i is 4-2. Utah State is 4-3.

The Rainbow Warriors trailed 35-32 at halftime, but went on a 10-2 run to start the second half to take a 42-37 lead with 15:55 to go. Utah State came back to take a 47-46 lead, but UH went on an 11-2 run to seal the victory.

Lojeski was 8 of 11 from the field. Ahmet Gueye added 12 points and a team-leading eight rebounds.

Jaycee Carroll led the Aggies with 15 points.
