Forged bills used to buy toys

Two women who tried to buy toys with counterfeit money were arrested at Pearlridge yesterday, police said.

At 3:43 p.m. yesterday police were called to the Toys-R-Us store at Pearlridge by store officials. Two women, age 40 and 23, were caught trying to buy toys with nine forged bills.

Both were arrested on suspicion of first-degree forgery.



Man allegedly throwing rocks onto Farrington Highway arrested

A 38-year-old Wai'anae man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly hurled rocks onto Farrington Highway, hitting two cars, police said.

District eight patrol officers responded at 3:43 p.m. to an area along Farrington Highway where two men, age 40 and 42, said their cars were hit by flying rocks.

Officers found the man and arrested him on suspicion of two counts of first-degree criminal property damage, police said.



Stolen credit card recovered, two arrested

Police arrested two men yesterday after they allegedly used a stolen credit card to finance a drug binge at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, police said.

The men, age 42 and 41, checked into a room with a stolen credit card Dec. 19. Police were called after hotel staff noticed one of the men acting "suspicious," police said.

Officers entered the room and found the men with "other persons." Both had several drug pipes on them, police said.

The men were arrested on suspicion of fraudulent use of a credit card, second degree theft, three counts of possession of a dangerous drug, and drug paraphernalia, police said.
