TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Ice Age" (2002), 7 p.m., Fox. It's the computer-animated tale of some long-ago creatures that find a human baby. Now they must take care of it and bring it home. The result mixes warmth and laughs — especially from a strange sloth, voiced by John Leguizamo. Ray Romano heads the voice cast, which has Denis Leary, Goran Visnjic, Jack Black, Jane Krakowski and Cedric the Entertainer.

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (1971), 8:30, 10:30 p.m., ABC Family. Yes, this year's remake — "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," with Tim Burton directing Johnny Depp — is masterful. Still, the original version is also great fun. Gene Wilder plays the eccentric confectioner who takes kids on a perilous tour of his candy factory.

OF NOTE

"Dateline," 8 p.m., NBC. This news show tentatively plans to view the impact a drunk-driving accident has on one small town.

"Hope & Faith," 8 p.m., ABC. Faith (Kelly Ripa) has dental work done by her brother-in-law. Alas, the nitrous oxide makes her giddy and she soon confesses things.

"Hot Properties," 8:30 p.m., ABC. Ava falls for a client, played by Harry Hamlin.

"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. The wife of a judge has been killed in her garage. Now police must decide if she had been the real target.

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 9 p.m., NBC. A car bomb has exploded. Three children are killed and their mother injured.
