Images of Christmas in Hawai'i are unlike those found just about anywhere else. Familiar carols may be accompanied by 'ukulele bands or hula. Nativity pageants showcase an ethnic rainbow of keiki angels and shepherds. Troops coming home for the holidays are welcomed with lei as well as hugs. And Santa arrives in a canoe, not down the chimney.

At the same time, our Islands share the universal spirit of this season — love of family and friends, and generosity to those in need.

As you wake to snow-white sandy beaches, or to find surfboard wax or crack seed in your stocking on Christmas morning, we bring you images that resonate for us. They are the moments of life that unfolded in Hawai'i this season.
