Kawamura will discuss the decision-making process concerning funding for state projects at the Hawai'i Island Chamber of Commerce's general membership meeting in Hilo on Jan. 12. The meeting at Restaurant Kaikodo is open to the public. Call 935-7178. The deadline is Jan. 5.

STREETS WILL BE 2-WAY UNTIL JAN. 5

HILO — Two-way traffic on Waianuenue Avenue and Kapi'olani Street in Hilo will remain in effect each morning until Jan. 5. Both streets are normally converted to one-way thoroughfares for part of each weekday to ease the flow of traffic on school days. Now that Big Island public schools have released their students for the Christmas and New Year's holidays, police said both streets will be left with two-way traffic patterns.
