Police last night were searching for a gunman who robbed an 'Aiea ice cream shop.

The man walked into the Dave's Hawaiian Ice Cream Factory on Moanalua Road at about 6:35 p.m., showed a handgun and demanded money, said Detective Paul Nagata. Two female cashiers gave the man an undetermined amount of cash, and he fled, Nagata said.

Police searched for the man on the ground as well as with the police helicopter with no luck. Nagata said the man wore a T-shirt over his face, but he said the cashiers noticed that the robber's eyes were a "real unusual green color" and that he had bony facial features.
