Ship runs aground at Kalaeloa

Tug boats try to free a Chinese freighter that ran aground at Kalaeloa today.

A 555-foot Chinese vessel ran aground at Kalaeloa on the Leeward coast at 7 a.m. today.

The freighter, called the Cape Flattery, was bringing in a load of concrete.

The Coast Guard was on the scene with helicopters and tug boats. There were no reports of injuries or oil spills.
