Marcos Jr. attending fetes, hearing
Advertiser Staff
The son of the late Ferdinand Marcos, the former Philippines president, began a weeklong visit here yesterday, meeting with Gov. Linda Lingle to sign a proclamation of a "sisterhood" relationship between Ilocos Norte province and Hawai'i.
But Marcos also will appear Monday before U.S. District Judge Manuel Real, for the latest hearing in the protracted $2 billion class-action judgment against the Marcos estate. Real's order for his appearance barred Marcos from discussing the litigation at any public appearances.
