Menlo's Lee has double doubles

Menlo freshman guard Kepua Lee was named the Cal Pac Player of the Week yesterday, after recording back-to-back double doubles in two wins last weekend.
Western Nebraska CC sophomore guard Rashaun Broadus (Mililani '02) scored 23 points, including six 3-pointers, to ignite WNCC to an 81-43 win against Casper College Jan. 27.Ê
He hit a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to put WNCC up 33-22 and hit another 3-pointer at the beginning of the second half.
Five minutes later, Broadus connected on consecutive 3s to give the Cougars a 50-27 lead.Ê
WNCC lost to Eastern Wyoming College, 66-54, Monday and fell from first to No. 5 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I poll released yesterday. Alcorn State (Miss.) freshman center LaToya Wily (Kahuku '04) came off the bench to provide a spark in a 70-64 win over Grambling State Monday.
After back-to-back three pointers by Grambling to start the game, Wily checked in and within seconds had a put back to spark a 9-2 run.
In the second half, the Lady Braves pulled to within two of GSU on a Wily jumper with 12:45 to go. She finished with 11 points in 15 minutes. Azusa Pacific junior third baseman Rachel Yoshizu (Hawai'i Baptist of Kane'ohe) was 2 for 4 with two doubles and a pair of RBIs in a 10-4 win over Redlands Jan. 29. Redlands senior second baseman Courtney Cho (Kamehameha of 'Aiea) was 1 for 2 with a run scored.

She won the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.00) against Cal State Northridge Friday and the 100 freestyle (52.65) and 100 butterfly (55.49) Saturday against UC Santa Barbara.
Freshman Randall Tom (Seabury Hall '04 of Wailuku) won the 200 individual medley (1:54.09) against Northridge.
Hunter College (New York) freshman setter Brandon Caban (Mililani '04) had 57 assists, three kills and two aces in a 3-2 victory over Baruch Feb. 2.
Several wrestlers from Hawai'i fared well at the prestigious Dave Schultz Tournament last weekend at Colorado Springs, Colo. In the 105.5-pound division, Sadie Kaneda (Roosevelt of Honolulu) tied for third, and Kristin Fujioka (Castle of Kane'ohe) placed fifth. At 112.25, Debbi Sakai (Mililani '03) tied for fifth with Kapua Torres (Kahuku '03). At 147.5, Ku'uini Johnson (Radford '03) finished 10th.

Lee, a 2004 graduate of Moanalua from Honolulu, had game highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds with four assists Friday against Notre Dame de Namur. She followed that performance with 13 points and 10 rebounds the next night against Simpson University.
