Division I semis washed out; games held today

Both of last night's Division I state softball semifinals were postponed until today because of rain.

St. Francis vs. Konawaena, suspended in top of fifth.

Also, the Division II semifinal between St. Francis (8-6) and Konawaena (8-2) was suspended with no outs in the top of the fifth inning and St. Francis at bat leading 5-0. Waipahu defeated Kamehameha-Maui, 6-3, in the first Division II semifinal.

Today's schedule has the St. Francis-Konawaena game starting at 4 p.m. at the point of suspension, followed by Kapolei (13-4) vs. Pearl City (14-3) at 6 and Kailua (16-1) vs. Mililani (14-3) at 8.

All games will be played at the University of Hawai'i's Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

All of today's consolation bracket games have been canceled due to the UH and other fields being unplayable in the morning.

The Division I third-place, Division II championship and Division I title games are scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m., 6 and 8, respectively.



Division II Semifinal

WAIPAHU 6, KAMEHAMEHA-MAUI 3

Tina Noga pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and the Marauders (14-3) took advantage of 11 walks to defeat the Warriors (6-9) in a Division II semifinal.

Kamehameha led 3-0 in the second, but the Marauders answered with four runs in the third, with Anna So'oalo getting a two-run single and Krissaundra Noga following with an RBI single.

Waipahu added single runs in the fifth and sixth.
